Innovative Teaching is a lens used in the following rankings:
Aims
This lens assesses the quality of the teaching and pedagogy. The academic consensus on teaching is that it should use a variety of methods, and in particular, experiential methods and those which ask the student to apply their knowledge to real world scenarios.
For students wishing to pursue careers in international trade, this type of learning will ensure that the knowledge is not artificially removed from the practical applications of the industry, and will better prepare graduates for hands-on work.
Indicators
Experiential Learning
The pedagogical emphasis is on experiential and innovative learning, which could be evidenced by activities such as simulations, field trips, observed practice and case studies. In addition, experiential learning could be evident in assessment practices such as authentic assessment, in contrast to more traditional formats such as exam and essay.
Internships
This indicator assesses whether there are built-in internships offered as part of the programme.
