This lens assesses the connectedness and engagement of the institution with industry. Having and maintaining these connections is vital for students wishing to pursue successful careers in international trade. Not only does it demonstrate that the school or program is purposefully connected to the industry it seeks to educate about, but that it is held in esteem by that industry in return. The lens combines Faculty Industry Experience, Partnerships with Employers and Partnering with Industry Bodies.

Faculty Industry Experience
This indicator assesses the level of expertise in the faculty team. The all-important experience held by faculty members as measured by how many years of industry experience do programme instructors have.
Partnerships with Employers
This indicator examines how higher education institutions (HEI) partner with the businesses (non-HEI). For this we identify on Scopus publications сo-authored with the biggest global companies (as per Forbes "The Global 2000" list). We consider only partnerships, resulted in at least 2 joint papers in the past 5 years. As in other cases when citations and papers are processed, only relevant paper types are considered and our usual affiliation cap is applied.
Partnering with Industry Bodies
This indicator assesses engagement with the sector. It measures the activity and participation of lecturers and the department through governmental trade/policy advisory, participation in international trade missions, contribution to trade policy/research, sitting on established trade body/advisory board and direct trade industry engagement/work.
